Five members of the Pima Community College baseball program will play for NCAA Division I teams and advance to the next level in fall 2024.
P/1B Nate Gray – arizona (Enrolled at Queen Creek High School in 2023: 34 games, batting average .345, 39 hits, 24 RBIs, 11 doubles, 9 home runs, 45 RBIs, 12 walks, 59 IP, 5 wins, 0 losses, ERA 1.31, 54 K).
P Diego Alvarez (Sahuarita) – New Mexico (While in Sahuarita in 2023: 9 games played, batting average .452, 33 hits, 27 RBIs, 18 RBIs, fielding percentage .954, 6 wins, 2 losses, ERA 1.91).
C Caleb Hurd (Cienega) – return to new mexico (2023 with Lobos: 9 games, batting average .429, 7 AB, 3 runs, 3 hits, 1 double, 1 RBI).
OF/P Antonio Avila – Nevada (2023 with Pima: 52 games, batting average .272, 32 points, 22 RBIs, 24 walks)
P JT Drake – Texas Tech University (2023 with Pima: 47.2 IP, 5-0, 2.08 ERA, 15 saves (NJCAA led), 58K in 25 games).
The Aztecs will play a nonconference doubleheader Friday at Paradise Valley Community College to begin the 2024 regular season.
