For the 11th year, 3,000 Stars and Stripes will fly at the Prescott Valley Civic Center during Patriot Week from September 8-15, 2023.

In 2013, her 19 flags were added honoring the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshot firefighters who died in the Yarnell Hill fire on June 30, 2013.
Placing a flag:
Community volunteers from the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Department, the PV Police Department, other local law enforcement agencies, and veterans’ organizations will set up flags on the field on Friday, September 8. Each flagpole has a name and the following information: attack victims.

Patriot Run/Walk:

Privilege pancake breakfast:
Local restaurant Ciao Bella will be sponsoring a pancake breakfast on the morning of Saturday, Sept. 9, and all proceeds from the donation will go to the flag purchase and the maintenance of the fields. A blessing ceremony will be held at 10:30 am after the run and breakfast at the PV Civic Center’s Theater on the Green.
Annual 9/11 Patriot Day Ceremony:
At 6 p.m. on Monday, September 11, the town will host its annual 9/11 Patriot Day ceremony at the Theater on the Green. The ceremony includes fire and police honor guards, the singing of the national anthem, and rifle volleys and taps from the 6th US Legion Honor Guard. Firefighters from the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Department lower a giant American flag from the roof of the Civic Center.
This year’s keynote speaker is Stacey Goodman. Stacey was a patrol officer on Long Island during 9/11. She has undergone extensive training in disaster response on an ongoing basis and she was a member of the Federal Disaster Response Team ready for deployment. On September 11, she was immediately put into duty and reported to the center of the turmoil, the middle of Ground Her Zero, where she spent the next 23 days.
The field is open 24/7:
Flags are hoisted at the Civic Center 24 hours a day on weekdays, and members of the public are also invited to walk the grounds and pay their respects to those who died on September 11, 2001.
