Flagstaff, Arizona – A strong winter storm is set to affect northern Arizona, bringing heavy snow and strong winds to multiple regions until Friday evening.
According to Flagstaff’s National Weather Service, Winter Storm warnings are valid from 11pm on Thursday to 5pm on Friday in areas over 5,000 feet, including West Mogoronlim. The total snowfall ranges from 2-10 inches, with Flagstaff and Williams predicted to receive up to 8 inches. A gust of wind can reach 50 mph, leading to potentially fallen tree branches and low visibility.
Additionally, winter weather advisories are in effect in the Chusca Mountains, Defiance Plateau and Black Mesa areas from 5am to 11pm on Friday. Window locks can see 2-4 inches of snow, while Ganado can receive 4-6 inches. The roads are expected to be smooth and dangerous. Especially bridges and overpasses.
The Kaibab Plateau is under winter weather advisories until 11pm on Thursday, with up to 14 inches of snow exceeding 6,500 feet, particularly near Lake Jacob.
