The Flagstaff Eagles will be taking part in a tournament with Nogales’ Apache at 11:30am on Friday. The two teams are strolling into the contest after winning big games.

The Nogales compete against the hot Flagstaff team. The team extended their winning streak to four. Flagstaff hurt Sienega with a sharp 12-2 victory on Thursday. The Eagles may be used to big wins this season as their team has won three games in three or more games.

The Will Carpenter was a major factor during the strike and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, giving up one acquisition (and one unknown) run with four hits while pitching five innings. It’s the fewest hit he’s allowed since returning in April 2024. He was also big on the plate, based on three of four plate appearances with one triple, one run and one RBI. That triple was his first season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Karen Kalander, who scored two runs on 3-3. Additionally, he posted three RBIs he had in March 2024. The team also got help courtesy of Brody Johnson, who went 3-for-3 on one triple, two RBIs and one run.

Flagstaff has always had someone on the base and has finished a game that posted an OBP of .548. They easily outperformed their opponents in that division, as Cienega posted only the .250 for OBP.

On the other hand, winning is always great, but doing so behind a season high score is even better (please ask Nogales). Everything went against St. Mary’s on Wednesday as Nogareth won 12-4. The victory brought back successive victories for Apache.

The Nogales pushed the record 4-4-1 with a victory. These wins were thanks to pitching efforts, and they averaged only 3.9 runs in those games. As for Flagstaff, their victory put their record at 6-3.
