Flagstaff man sentenced to prison for murdering his wife

phoenixDaniel Padukowski, Flagstaff man authorities say admitted to killing his wifelearned of his punishment on October 15th.

In court, the judge sentenced Padkowski to 16 years in prison. He is not eligible for any type of early release.

Padukowsky was arrested in June on suspicion of killing his wife, Kelly. He initially reported his wife missing in the Flagstaff area, but shortly after, police determined the incident was suspicious and arrested Daniel.

As part of the transaction, Padukowsky pleaded guilty. It was a case of second-degree murder, and police found Kelly’s body and other evidence.

In court on Tuesday, a motive for the murder was also revealed, with loved ones claiming Kelly told Daniel she was planning to divorce him. It is also believed that Daniel sent a cell phone message to Kelly’s mother and that he got tired of covering up the murder and rode his bicycle with her cell phone to suggest that she was still alive. It became clear.

During Tuesday’s hearing, Daniel admitted to the judge that he felt something had attacked him when he killed his wife and told his family he was sorry. Inside the courtroom, Kelly’s loved ones spoke of what a kind, courageous and loving mother she was. Statements were read out on their behalf after the court adjourned.

“The family would like to thank law enforcement and the county attorney’s office for their work in this investigation, and we sincerely appreciate the outpouring of love and support,” the statement read in part.

Daniel was also found guilty of other charges relating to the death, and these sentences will run concurrently with a 16-year prison sentence.
