City of Flagstaff Signs Energy and Sustainable Solutions Provider Noresco Implement new decarbonisation, energy and water efficiency programs through Energy Performance Contracts (EPCs) through a competitive process. His $4.4 million project will guarantee $6.1 million in savings and allow for critical infrastructure upgrades while accelerating progress on the city’s climate neutrality plan.
“This is an exciting and important next step for the City of Flagstaff in its commitment to carbon neutrality. The effort will reduce the city’s carbon footprint by 30%.This project also serves as an important reminder that climate action is consistent with sound financial management,” said Mayor Becky Daggett. Stated.
As a result of this project, the city’s building system, irrigation management and transportation systems will operate more efficiently and become more extensively dependent on electricity. The scope of work includes:
- LED lighting and control upgrades accommodate indoor and outdoor lighting in selected locations, with outdoor lighting standardized to comply with Flagstaff’s Dark Sky Ordinance.
- A dual-port integrated charging station that complements the city’s vehicle conversion efforts.
- Reactivate 20 irrigation control systems to maintain coverage while optimizing water use.
- Joe C. Montoya Community and Senior Center Heat Pump Electrification of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Facilities, and Energy Management System Software Upgrades and Optimizations at Six Locations.
- Building exterior improvements such as weatherstripping, window seals, and spray foam insulation to accommodate the approximately 600,000 square foot facility.
The project includes a rigorous commissioning and measurement-based validation plan to conserve energy and water usage and ensure successful operation. Support for this project is provided by NORESCO’s local Arizona team responsible for engineering and project management, and construction includes the use of local subcontractors.
