FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — A winter storm closed schools and high country roads in Flagstaff on Friday.
The Flagstaff Unified School District announced early Friday morning that classes, after-school activities and school lunch services were canceled on Feb. 2 due to inclement weather.
Snow conditions also closed northbound Interstate 17 near Mann's Park.
Arizona Department of Transportation and Public Safety said multiple commercial vehicles were stuck in the snow south of Mann's Park and snowplows were unable to get them out of the way.
Northbound traffic was shut down but partially reopened at milepost 310 (north of Stoneman Lake Road).
Southbound lanes were not affected. Please be aware of current traffic conditions here.
More snow is expected in some parts of the state on Friday, with a few more showers possible in the valley.
Many areas in the valley received between a half inch and an inch of rain overnight.
