Flagstaff’s Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Flagstaff hasn’t had a good run recently against Seton Catholic (0-9 in their last nine meetings), but they didn’t let their past get in the way Friday. The Flagstaff Eagles defeated the Seton Catholic Sentinels with a 65-40 victory. The Eagles have a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, and have now won four games this season by a margin of 25 points or more.

Seton Catholic lost despite the team’s offensive efforts, the best of which was Mia DiPuccio, who had 17 points and seven rebounds. DiPuccio has been getting a lot of attention lately, stealing at least two bases in each of his last three games. Carmela Gallardo was also a key player, scoring 10 goals.

It was Flagstaff’s sixth straight win, bringing their record this year to 6 wins and 2 losses. Those wins came thanks to the offensive performance during that span, averaging 65.0 points per game. As for Seton Catholic, they have struggled of late, losing three of their last four games, putting a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season.

Flagstaff quickly returned to the court and lost its next game, 54-51, to Show Low on the 14th. As for Seton Catholic, it didn’t take long for him to be back on the court. They have already played their next match, winning 46-34 against Coconino on the 14th.
