Twenty Arizona high school seniors have been awarded 2023 Flynn Scholarships. This scholarship is a merit-based award that allows everyone to attend her one of Arizona’s public colleges.
A comprehensive scholarship package valued at over $130,000 includes tuition, fees, housing, meals, and at least two study abroad experiences.

“Twenty students from twenty different high schools, with incredibly high performing students found throughout Arizona, study in a variety of schools in our metropolitan centers and several smaller communities. Class of 2023 Flynn Scholars
• Six Flinn Scholars attend high school in celebration of the first Flinn Scholars. BASIS Mesa, Valley Vista High School in Surprise, Youngker High School in Buckeye, BASIS Peoria, Superior High School, and Poston Butte High School in San Tan Valley.
• Seven Flinn Scholars live and attend high school outside of Maricopa County. Eloy, San Tan Valley, Superior, Tucson, and Yuma.
• Three high schools – Chandler’s Basha High School, North Phoenix Preparatory Academy and Scottsdale’s Desert Mountain High School – are celebrating their second Flinn Scholar.
• The 20 Flinn Scholars represent 20 high schools, including public schools and charter schools.
• Bioscience High School hired a Flinn Scholar for the third year in a row, and Santa Cruz Valley Union High School, Red Mountain High School, and North Phoenix Preparatory Academy all hired a Flinn Scholar for the second year in a row.
October saw over 1,000 submissions for 20 awards, with an award rate of 1.9%.
To qualify, Flinn Scholars must excel in the classroom and typically rank in the top 5% of their graduating class. You must also have demonstrated leadership in a variety of extra-curricular activities both in school and in the community.
The Flinn Scholars Class of 2023 will study a wide range of subjects including Neuroscience, Physiology, Medicine, English, Political Science, Molecular Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering and Finance.
