Flagstaff residents are invited to participate in Volunteer Days this spring and summer to prepare their neighborhoods for the coming monsoon season. Volunteers can help with activities such as filling sandbags, placing or removing sandbags, and clearing debris from waterways and drains.
Each event runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, but volunteers are asked to arrive around 8:45 am.
There will be two volunteer events focused on filling and installing sandbags. The first time is May 19th and the second time he is June 7th. Both will be held at 2625 N King St. in front of the Coconino County Department of Health and Human Services.
Additionally, volunteers are invited on the first Saturday of June, July, and August to help clean up the Rio de Flaga area by removing trash, debris, and invasive species, and cutting vegetation that blocks waterways.
For questions about these events, please contact City of Flagstaff Volunteer and Events Coordinator Steven Thompson at steven.thompson@flagstaffaz.gov.
