Heavy rains and flooding continue to hit the state, also causing dangerous road conditions in the highlands. The Arizona Department of Transportation says the following highways are closed due to weather and crashes:
- SR 89A both directions between Sedona and Flagstaff (MP 375-398)
- SR 87 northbound at Payson
- SR 64 (MP 244-261) near Grand Canyon National Park East Entrance
- SR 260 Payson East Both Directions (MP 277-283)
- SR 89A near Oak Creek Canyon
ADOT recommends postponing non-essential travel as today’s weather has thrown rocks and debris onto highways. If transportation is required, ADOT advises drivers to have an emergency kit and be prepared to spend long hours in winter conditions.

At this time, we strongly advise postponing non-essential travel to Northern Arizona. If that’s not possible, pack an emergency kit and be prepared to spend long hours in winter conditions.#azwx pic.twitter.com/57MHtCNnc2
