A 32-year-old Homestead, Florida, man was arrested on suspicion of masturbating in front of another man and repeatedly stabbing him, WPLG Local 10 News reported.

The victim contacted officers around 8:45 a.m. Saturday to report he had been stabbed by an African-American man wearing a white shirt, orange pants and a blue durag, the report said.to local outlet.

The victim was airlifted to Jackson South Medical Center, the report said. When police caught the suspect, Devon Cooper, they found him with cuts on his hands, blood on his clothes, and a knife, the newspaper reported.

According to the report, the victim told officers that she was sleeping on the stairs in the parking lot when Cooper approached her. The suspect asked if anyone was with him, the newspaper said. The victim claims he said “no” and continued to sleep, according to the report. When Cooper continued to speak, the victim asked him to leave, according to the police report.

Cooper continued to remove his jacket and showed the victim masturbating with his penis out, according to the report. WPLG reported. After the victim stood up, Cooper allegedly assumed a “fighting stance” and stabbed him repeatedly in various parts of his body, the report said. According to the newspaper, Cooper allegedly threw one of the victim's bags over the railing, failed to grab another bag and fled.

The report said the alleged perpetrator was “uncooperative” during interrogation with police officers after his arrest. He is currently facing charges including indecent assault, armed robbery and attempted murder, WPLG reported.
