“The vast majority of people who die in Martin County got their drugs from places 1,800 miles away, including Cochise County, Arizona, and Texas,” Snyder said.
In addition to the increase in fentanyl-related overdoses, Snyder said many of the quality of life issues in the county are due to the border crisis.

He has been vocal about the border crisis in the past. He went so far as to send a letter to President Biden.
