Syd was born on August 30, 1983 in Morehead City, North Carolina, the son of Johnette McCoy Chapman and the late Floyd Sydney “Skip” Chapman Jr. He loved animals, history and spending time with his family. His son “Skip” was his pride and joy. In addition to his father, Sid was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, John F. McCoy, and his paternal grandfather, Floyd Sidney Chapman.
Sid is survived by his mother, Johnette McCoy Chapman, in Strasburg, Virginia. His wife, Gloria Chapman, and son Floyd Sidney Chapman IV of Manassas Park, Virginia. his brother, Corey Chapman of Middletown, Virginia; his maternal grandmother, Betty McCoy of Woodstock, Virginia; his paternal grandmother, Polly Gary of Yuma, Arizona; Toms Brook’s close family friend Larry Holler is there, as well as a few of his beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial donations to the Warren County Humanitarian Society or the Shenandoah County Humanitarian Society.
