PHOENIX — Graham County saw an increase in the number of confirmed flu cases during the latest reporting period.
According to the Arizona Department of Health, 11 new cases were reported in the week of February 12, an 83 percent increase from the previous week, and the week of January 8 had 16 new cases, the most in a single week. There are many.
Graham County has had 508 flu cases so far this season, more than double the five-year average for this time of the flu season.
Of Graham County’s total cases to date, 464 have been influenza A, 26 have been influenza B, and the remaining 18 have not yet been confirmed.
Graham County reportedly sees most cases in school-age children, with 34% affecting children ages 5 to 18. AZDHS has reported 271 flu cases in Greenlee County so far this season, which is 352% higher than the five-year average.
A total of 266 cases in Greenlee County were influenza A, 3 were influenza B, and the remaining 2 are unknown.
School-aged children aged 5-18 account for 42% of cases in Greenlee County, 30% among adolescents aged 19-49, 14% among infants, 8% among adults aged 50-64, and 8% among those aged 65 and older. Followed by 6%. .
