A shocking video revealed the chaos as passengers evacuated American Airlines flights after an emergency landing at Denver International Airport on Saturday. This incident was triggered by a failure in the landing gear, which resulted in smoke and flames.
American Airlines Flight 3023, a Boeing 737 Max 8, was set to depart for Miami around 2:45 PM local time when air traffic control warned, “You’re actually on fire.”

As the plane came to a stop, thick black smoke began to billow from the left side. Passengers were seen rushing down the emergency chute, with some screaming in fear of a possible explosion. The atmosphere was tense, filled with panic.
“There were some flames. The smoke seems to be a bit dead,” was heard on an emergency response radio communication.
The Denver Fire Department quickly arrived, managing to extinguish the flames, announcing around 5:10 PM that the fire was under control.
According to American Airlines, all 173 passengers and six crew members evacuated the aircraft without serious injury. Six passengers were treated for minor injuries, while one was taken to a nearby hospital.
