The Flagstaff Eagles will take on the Desert Sunrise Golden Hawks on Friday at 7pm. Both teams are coming into this matchup relaxed, having comfortably won their previous games.

Flagstaff lost on the road last Friday, but the home fans gave the team all the motivation they needed on Friday, as they were unstoppable in a comfortable 34-7 win over Winslow at home. For those keeping track at home, this is the biggest win the Eagles have recorded since Sept. 22, 2023.

Jadon Wetzel was a disruptive player for Flagstaff, rushing for 258 yards and four touchdowns while averaging 13.6 yards per carry. This dominant performance saw Wetzel set a new career high in rushing yards. Flagstaff also got help from Chase Carlson, who was a sure-footed player with an 85-yard reception.

Meanwhile, Desert Sunrise saw its four-game losing streak dating back to last season come to an end with an easy 49-13 win over Copper Canyon on Friday at home.

Aimé Lamoure was simply outstanding, rushing for 161 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 8.1 yards per carry, and also notching a reception for 67 yards and one touchdown. Tresire Adkins was another key player, completing 71.4% of his passes for 315 yards and three touchdowns.

Flagstaff's win ended a six-game home winning streak that stretched back to last season and brought the team to 2-1, while Desert Sunrise's win also brought them back to a 1-1 tie.
