Former University of Alabama defensive back Terrance Howard died Thursday at the age of 19, Fox News reported.
Howard was involved in a traffic accident while driving from Tuscaloosa to the new campus on July 20. After the accident, Howard got out of his car to check on other accident victims and was struck by another passing vehicle. according to He was seriously injured and was placed in a medically induced coma for 10 days, he told KPRC-TV.

Though he only played varsity football as a senior at Ridge Pointe High School in Siena, Texas, Howard's talent was undeniable, and although he never played in a game for the Crimson Tide, he was awarded a full scholarship to attend NC Central, an HBCU that competes in the MEAC, according to Fox News.
