Former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said on twitter Monday He said he plans to run for mayor of Fountain Hills, Arizona in 2024.
Arpaio, the controversial sheriff who served Maricopa County from 1993 to 2017, ran for mayor of Fountain Hills last year but lost to Mayor Ginny Dickie by a margin of 213 votes, 5,420 to 5,207.
Arpaio before that Ran for the Senate in 2018 and was elected 3rd in the Republican primary.Then Arpaio He ran to reclaim the sheriff’s seat in 2020, but lost the Republican primary to Jerry Sheridan and ultimately to Democrat Paul Penzone in the general election.
