Former Member Of Popular Band Says He Wasn’t Credited For His Contributions

Doug Richards, former member of the band My Wet Legs, says his former partner Leanne Teasdale did not properly appreciate his contributions.

Richards claims that after leaving the band after parting ways with Teasdale, he expected to get songwriting credits on some of the songs he wrote and contributed to. He also alleges that she slandered him and his family in her song, according to the source. Times.

Richards said he and his brother came up with the band’s name, as opposed to Teasdale, who said he created the name by randomly combining emojis on his keyboard.

According to The Times, the singer-songwriter co-wrote “Oh No” and “Too Late Now” and said he was determined to be credited on both songs.

“I feel intimidated trying to approach this subject. But I wrote [on those songs] And they are on record. So I should probably be recognized,” he said.

He also revealed that breaking up the band was not his choice.

“I was really upset about it, actually,” he told The Times.

“I felt that it was probably quite successful. I felt like I contributed to the production of this work,” said Richards. (Related: Ed Sheeran Wins Copyright Infringement Lawsuit)
