Former NBA Star Oliver Miller Dead At 54 After Battle With Brain Cancer

Former NBA star Oliver Miller holds the nickname “Big O” during his time as a player. He passed away at the age of 54.

In college, Miller played as an Arkansas center, where the Razorbacks reached the Final Four and advanced to the NBA where they spent time there. 9 seasons.

Standing at 6 feet, 9 inches and weighing about 300 pounds, Miller was a standout star of the Razorbacks from 1988 to 92. In four campaigns, Miller averaged 12.2 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game.

During the 1989-90 season, he was part of the last four teams led by Naismith Hall of Fame head coach Nolan Richardson. The team ultimately lost to Duke. Miller was named Southwest Conference Player of the Year in 1991.

Miller was also a member of the Phoenix Suns from 1992-93, progressing to the NBA Finals, losing to Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.
