A second victim was identified in additional sexual misconduct allegations against former San Diego Teacher of the Year Jacqueline Ma for 2022, according to the recently amended complaint.
Police initially arrested and charged a 34-year-old teacher at Lincoln Acres Elementary School in March with sexual misconduct with a 12-year-old student, the newspaper said. San Diego era. It’s unclear at this time whether John Doe No. 2 was a former student of Mr. Ma’s, but the Times confirmed that one of the alleged crimes was allegedly committed in a classroom.
Ma was initially accused of harassing a student identified as John Doe No. 1 through sexual acts and illegal photo exchanges, the paper reported. Prosecutors called Ma’s behavior toward the teen “obsessive, possessive, controlling and dangerous,” according to The Times. The National City Police Department said the impetus leading to her arrest was suspicion by parents who worried their son “may have been having an inappropriate relationship with a former teacher.”
Deputy District Attorney Drew Hart said that when she was arrested in March, authorities found in her wallet a photograph of the victim, as well as jewelry bearing the victim’s initials and a letter addressed to the victim. A love letter was also found, the deputy district attorney reported.
Ma is currently being held without bail on a total of 19 felony counts. If convicted, the former teacher could face more than 150 years in prison for life, The Times reported.
