Former Wyoming Republican Sen. Alan Simpson passed away Friday at the age of 93.

“He was a rare and generous man,” Simpson’s older brother Pete Simpson wrote in a statement. “And I’m generous in an absolutely unconditional way. Give him time, give him his energy, and he did it in politics, and he did it in family forever.”
Several Republican lawmakers posted on social media on Friday, mourning Simpson’s death.
