Former Washington Post columnist Taylor Lorenz described murderer Luigi Mangionne as “morally good” and “handsome” during his Sunday appearance on CNN.
Police in Altoona, Pennsylvania arrested Luigi Manguione in December 2023 after a five-day manhunt after Brian Thompson, CEO of United Health Group, was killed in a shooting just outside a Manhattan hotel on his way to the meeting. In a special aired on the Corporate Media Network, Lorenz discussed how CNN reporter Donnie O’Sullivan and the women seemed attracted to Mangione. “So you told O’Sullivan to Lorenz, ‘Oh, my God, here’s a revolutionary man, a famous, handsome, young, a wise man, he’s like this morally good man, and he’s hard to find.’

Attorney General Pam Bondy announced on April 1 that he would seek Manigone’s death penalty if the federal government is found guilty of federal charges in connection with Thompson’s death.
“If you look at these billionaires media experts, you see this holding the pearls about the person stopping the killer, this is the United States, the United States.
“There’s a huge disconnect between the narrative and angles pushed by the mainstream media and what the American people feel, and you can see it in moments like this,” continued Lorenz. “And I can tell you, I saw the biggest audience growth I’ve ever seen, because people were like, ‘Oh, some journalists are actually talking about the rage we’re feeling.’ ”
Vox Media has ended its distribution of Lorenz’s podcasts after first praised Mangione in December. (Related: CNN reporter says there is the issue of “extremism” on the right, but ignores the history of violence on the left.)
