A former high school wrestling coach was sentenced to six years in prison on March 10, followed by 15 years of probation, after pleading guilty to various sex crimes involving minors in Navajo County Superior Court last month. was placed on probation with
A 40-year-old man named Daniel Larson, who worked at Winslow High School, pleaded guilty to the following charges:
- Confidential sex with a minor over the age of 15.
- Attempted sexual activity while building a relationship of trust with a minor over the age of 15.
- 3 counts of public indecency against minors.
“Larsen’s most recent offense involved frequent sexual assault of a high school student over a four-year period beginning in 2014, when the high school student was 15 years old,” the Navajo County Attorney’s Office said in a statement. The other three victims included in were members of the extended family of Larsen, who was a girl at the time of the victimization from the 1990s.The youngest was five years old.”
The agency said Larsen would have to register as a sex offender upon his release and keep away from victims and children other than his own children and grandchildren.
