Fort Huachuca, Arizona – Four soldiers were honored for a total of 102 years of service at the quarterly decommissioning ceremony held at Brown Parade Field on July 21.

Maj. Gen. Christopher Eubank, commander of the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Engineering Command, who hosted the ceremony, said, “It was an honor to join you on this beautiful morning in Arizona at historic Brown Parade Field to celebrate the accomplishments and milestones of the soldiers we are celebrating today.”

Soldiers honored at the ceremony included five Warrant Officers Thomas Burt, 35T Disciplinary Technical Advisor with 28 years of service. Chief Warrant Officer 4 Semi Remafa, Special Electronic Mission Aircraft Instructor Pilot for Delta’s 304th Military Intelligence Battalion, 30 years of service. Sergeant 1st Class Derek Blame, G3 U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence Language Special Projects Petty Officer, 24 years of service. and sergeant. Mr. Joshua Schrock, NCO Academy his 35 million Advance His Leader Course his instructor, 20 years of service.

“The seasoned men before you collectively have served this country for more than 102 years and represent decades of dedication, sacrifice and dedication,” Eubank said.

Eubank accompanies the award with some interesting facts about the year the soldier enlisted in the army. Three of the four attended during the Bill Clinton presidency and one during the George W. Bush administration.

The World Wide Web started as a public domain when Lemafa joined in 1993. Mr. Burt joined his company in 1995, the same year his DVD was invented. Mr Brehm joined the company in 1999. At the time, a gallon of gasoline cost him $1.17. Schrock joined the company in 2003, when Nokia, not Apple, was leading the mobile phone market.

“Retirement is a big milestone in life and stepping into the unknown can be scary, but it can also be exciting,” Eubank said. “You’ve faced many challenges along the way, been at the forefront of global change, worked hard with your teammates to achieve great results, and worked hard to stay ahead of your opponents who were always one step ahead of us.

“Today you are a veteran, a veteran, a lifelong soldier,” he added. “He’s an inspiration to future generations of soldiers. Today, more than ever, it matters.”

Eubank called on each veteran to seek opportunities to become leaders in their communities, continue to tell their stories, and encourage others to understand the valuable opportunities that serving in the Army provides.

Following Eubank’s speech, the audience sang Old Soldiers Never Die, Auld Lang Syne, and War Songs. Unit B, 4th U.S. Cavalry Regiment (Memorial) made its customary charge. Afterwards, the four veterans and their loved ones were thanked by friends, family, leaders, colleagues and fellow soldiers.
