Fox News anchor Dana Perino asked Democrat California Rep. Locanna on Wednesday whether he could fix his party amid a struggle against President Donald Trump.
After losing to Trump in November, Democrats have split over how to implement successful defenses against presidential policies and remain uncertain about the future of their platform. However, Kanna expressed optimism in the “American Newsroom” about his party’s potential recovery, pointing out Trump’s unlikely comeback from January 6, 2021, and held the presidency in 2024. I’ve got it back. (Reince Priebus tells the DEM panelists that their party is on the “normal wrong side”)
clock:
“Do you think Democrats can fix it at this point?” Perino asked.
“Absolutely. If you asked someone in 2021 that Donald Trump would become Donald Trump on January 6th, you became President of the United States in 2024, but even many of your viewers said, “Yes. I don’t think I was saying that it was going to happen,” Kanna said. “know [former Republican Speaker of the House] Kevin McCarthy certainly didn’t think that would happen. Yes, Democrats can come back, but we won’t come back if we just provide the same old status quo. ”
Kanna said in her Democratic comeback that she said, “A vision to recognize that a lot is wrong for workers and middle-class Americans, and that we are for their financial success and the economic success of our communities.” He argued that it would require a positive vision of what to do.
The Democratic Party’s approval rating has approached an all-time low of 31% among registered voters. According to To Quinnipiac University Polling, which was released on January 29th.
Additionally, Harry Enten, a senior CNN data reporter, showed on Wednesday how Trump reshapes American voters by increasing his share of Republican voters to the point that now surpasses Democrats.
“Donald Trump and the Republicans have changed voters. What does that mean? Now, let’s look at the identification of the parties. Democrats and Republicans,” Enten said. “You went back to 2017 and you had five points of voters than the Republicans, and you went to 2021. [former President] Joe Biden had started. Look at that. The six-point voters were more Democrats than Republicans. ”
“But look at what happened in February 2025. Look at this. Republicans, electors have more Republicans than Democrats. Republicans and two,” he said. I continued. “So Donald Trump and the Republicans re-created voters. They handed over some people out of being Democrats and independents to become Republicans. The new people are more Republican-leaning. It’s coming into the voters that are there.”
