France announced on Tuesday that Osama bin Laden’s son Omar bin Laden, 43, would be banned from entering the country for life.
Osama bin Laden, the former leader of the Islamic terrorist organization al-Qaeda, was assassinated by SEAL Team 6 in Pakistan in 2011. His terrorist organization was behind the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States.
“I am today issuing an administrative restraining order against Omar bin Laden, the eldest son of international terrorist Osama bin Laden. Bin Laden, who lived in Orne for several years as the spouse of a British national, “Posted a comment on his social networks apologizing for terrorism in 2023,” French Interior Minister Bruno Letailault tweeted in French.

“As a result, Governor Orne issued an OQTF and allowed Mr. Bin Laden to leave the country. The court confirmed the regularity of this decision, which was taken in the interest of national security. Bin Laden is accused of posting a message praising his late father’s memory on his birthday (May 2nd), according to the newspaper Le Publicatour Libre. reported Omar claimed that the charges against her stem from “false information.” The account that made the offending post has since been suspended.

Bin Laden had already left France in October 2023, as the country had ordered his deportation and had previously been banned from entering France for two years, Politico reportedThis was reported as information from the Ministry of Home Affairs. French law prohibits “web or journalistic content that advocates terrorism or incites the commission of terrorist acts” (French government website) noticed. Such Content may be considered a violation under French law and may be subject to removal.
