Frankie Muniz, who transitioned from acting to driving, withdraws from the race following an injury from an unusual accident.

Frankie Muniz Takes Break from NASCAR Following Injury

Frankie Muniz recently revealed that he’s been sidelined from NASCAR due to a wrist injury he suffered at home. The former star of “Malcolm in the Middle” shared the news via a post on X on Thursday, lightheartedly remarking that the phrase “FML” (which stands for Frankie Muniz’s Life) might take on a different tone now. He confirmed that he will miss this weekend’s race in Darlington, along with several upcoming events.

He explained, “Yesterday I fell off the top of a ladder while changing the battery in my backyard. Lesson learned: Avoid ladders that warn against standing on the top steps.” In retrospect, he added that sticking to shorter ladders might be a wiser choice.

Muniz termed the injury a significant setback but expressed relief that it wasn’t worse. He mentioned, “I am disappointed to miss the race, but I’m thankful it wasn’t more serious. The team has worked incredibly hard this season, and I appreciate the ongoing support from @fordperformance.”

The doctor has estimated that his recovery could take between six to eight weeks, and Muniz hopes to return to racing once he gets the all-clear.

In response to his news, fans quickly filled his post with well-wishes and support. This injury comes at a pivotal time for NASCAR, with the series playoffs set to begin in South Carolina on August 30, and only five races left in the season.
