SAFFORD – Do you have unsightly trash around your house that you want to take to the landfill?
For County Improvement, Safford County, Thatcher County, Pima County and Graham County are working together to sponsor the City of Safford Landfill at 2755 N. Safford Landfill Rd. Host your biannual Community Pride Day from Thursday, October 20th to Saturday, October 22nd from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
During that time, anyone living in Safford, Thatcher, Pima or anywhere else in the county can bring one piece of trash to the landfill for free. Make sure your luggage is secured with a tarp to avoid the $10 fee. Also, be sure to bring proof of residency. Otherwise, you will be charged. It goes without saying that no dangerous goods are accepted and ID is required.
Landfill hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Community Pride Day will be held Thursday, October 20th through Saturday, October 22nd. The landfill is closed on Sundays.
Landfills do not waive fees for commercial haulers and commercial operators.Landscaping business, tree felling business, RV park, etc.
Residents of Safford are always allowed one truck per month to the landfill for free. Those taking advantage of the offer must bring a City of Safford utility bill that matches the address on their driver’s license.
So let’s clean up our neighborhood together and take advantage of free trash day at the Safford area landfill.
