Free tax filing program available in San Luis

City of San Luis and Catholic Community Services of Southern Arizona partner for program

SAN LUIS, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – The City of San Luis announced it is partnering with local organizations to provide free tax preparation services to San Luis residents through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.

The city says the program targets underserved communities and helps people with low-to-moderate incomes, people with disabilities, seniors, and those who are not proficient in English prepare their taxes.

The VITA program wants to ensure that families and individuals receive the tax credits they are eligible for.

Individuals will be asked to provide the following information:

  • Driver's license or photo ID of the taxpayer (including spouse, if applicable);
  • Social Security card or individual taxpayer identification number for each member of the household;
  • A copy of your last year's tax return,
  • a letter issued by the Internal Revenue Service to each individual listed on the refund;
  • You will need to provide documentation of other types of income (W-2 or 1099), withholdings, deductions, and deductions such as health insurance.

This program is open and will run until April 13th.

We do not have in-person appointments, but we will accept documents the next day at 788 EB Street, San Luis, Arizona.

  • Monday, 5pm to 7pm
  • Thursdays, 5pm to 7pm
