Friday morning collision injures three in Pima

PIMA – A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. Highway 70 and 200 South (just east of the Speedway gas station on 325 E. Highway 70) killed three occupants of one car Friday morning. Ended up being taken to the hospital.

This area is the site of the proposed entrance north of Highway 70, which will be used to enter the new Pima High School, scheduled to open in the fall of 2025. 200 South currently ends at Highway but has an extension to a new high school. , discussions began on the possibility of placing traffic lights at intersections when that happened.

The Pima Police Department and Graham County Sheriff’s Office were joined at the scene by the Pima Fire Department and Lifeline Ambulance.

The three occupants of the vehicle with the severely damaged front end were taken to Mount Graham Regional Medical Center for treatment, according to Pima Fire Chief Scott Howell.

One lane was closed during crash recovery and the disabled vehicle was towed from the scene around 11:00 am. The other vehicle was driven from the scene by its crew.

The accident is under investigation by the Pima Police.
