Front Burner Media leads international tourism session in Williams | Williams-Grand Canyon News

WILLIAMS, Ariz. — Williams businesses looking to expand their marketing and tourism attraction expertise will be pleased to have the opportunity to mark their business as a destination.

On January 18th and 19th, Heather Harmen of Front Burner Media (FBM) will lead information sessions on expanding the international tourism market for the Williams community. Harmen is confident Williams will be able to grow financially again as pre-pandemic visitor numbers gradually return.

FBM has been contracted by the City and Town of Williams to assist with marketing and promotion for nearly eight years. Mr. Harmen is the owner of his FBM and believes that media management and marketing “cannot be put on the backburner.” Hermen has extensive experience in public relations, communications, advertising, budgeting and marketing. FBM works with the Arizona Department of Tourism. Additionally, Harmen is working hard to include Williams as a stopover on travelers' itineraries. Mr. Harmen described working with the Williams community as understanding the opportunities and areas in which Williams can grow.

“As the gateway to the Grand Canyon®, we see visitors from a diverse range of countries and have the opportunity to accommodate even more people,” said Harmen. “This requires the tools our business partners in the city need to work with international tour operators and agents to set them up for success.”

Williams coined the trademark “Gateway to the Grand Canyon” to promote Williams' importance as a travel destination. Harmen said many tourists pass through Williams on their trips to the Grand Canyon, so it's important that Williams businesses can provide valuable services to travelers.

Harmen went on to say that FBM is committed to inviting visitors from around the world to each of its destinations, and Williams is one of them. From there, visitors can explore where to stay, eat, and shop.

“We act as an invitation committee, a marketing company representing the destination and rolling out the welcome mat for visitors from all over the world to experience Williams,” Harmen said.

In the session, Mr. Harmen will discuss what exactly FBM is doing to market and promote Williams and how it is working with travel companies and agents to promote Williams as a destination. I'll give you an overview. Speakers from leading travel companies will also be in attendance to share insights on booking preferences, sales cycles, fare types, contract details and more.

Harmen added that agents can take home information about reservation periods, preferences, rates to prepare, contracts, and more, giving them the tools they need to build an even stronger foundation.

Informative sessions will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. January 18th and from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. January 19th in the Gateway Room of Fred Harvey Restaurant, 233 N. Grand Canyon Blvd. It would be held. Accommodation, attraction and restaurant partners interested in working with international markets should participate. There is no cost, but RSVP is required.
