Frontier Airlines Pilot Arrested Aboard Aircraft Prior To Departure

A Frontier Airlines pilot was arrested on a flight before it departed from Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport on Saturday, CBS News reported.

Houston police handcuffed Seymour Walker, 45, and removed him from Flight 3195 just before the scheduled departure for Dallas. according to The pilot had an outstanding arrest warrant for assault, including family violence, according to a letter sent to CBS News. The incident reportedly happened around 4 p.m. while passengers were boarding the flight.

After all passengers had disembarked, Texas law enforcement officers boarded the plane at a specific gate and took Walker into custody “without incident,” the outlet quoted police as saying. Frontier Airlines confirmed the incident and the subsequent chaos in a statement to CBS News. “This incident occurred prior to boarding for Flight 3195 from IAH to Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW). A replacement crew member was not immediately available, so the flight was canceled,” Frontier Airlines said in a statement, according to CBS News.

According to CBS News, the airline offered affected passengers the choice of a full refund, a credit for future travel, or a seat on the next available flight. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) also spoke out about the incident.

“Airlines report these incidents to the FAA office with jurisdiction, and we investigate all pilot-related matters,” the FAA said in a statement, CBS News reported.
