U.S. Representative Gary Palmer (R-Hoover) believes that DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) and CRT (Critical Race Theory) can have a negative impact on the U.S. health care system. has introduced legislation to combat this.
Palmer reacted to something report It details how too many healthcare organizations are prioritizing DEI efforts over providing quality care to their patients.
Introducing racial discrimination in things like Medicare would have a serious impact on the health care system.
Fortunately, I have a bill to stop CRT and DEI in our health care system. https://t.co/197vBomz5g https://t.co/BOMjXOfT8u

The congressman pointed people to the Prevention of Racial Discrimination in Medicare Act (PRIMA), which he introduced earlier this month.
The bill would prohibit health care providers from being forced to comply with the Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) racial discrimination policies.
“All Americans, regardless of race, should receive the same treatment from their doctors, and there should be no impact on Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement,” Palmer said.

The legislation specifically mentions the new Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Final Rule, which includes provisions that provide financial incentives for physicians to develop and implement anti-racism plans. The rule requires plans to “review existing tools and policies, including values and practice guidelines, across the practice to ensure they include and are consistent with anti-racism commitments.” It is clearly stated.
“This rule by HHS incentivizes Critical Race Theory if physicians want to be reimbursed at higher rates,” Palmer argued. “Dividing Americans along racial lines within the clinic will continue to erode trust in our health care institutions. My bill will stop the implementation of this destructive ideology and ensure that no patient It also ensures that people are not discriminated against.”
The bill is co-sponsored by Rep. Michael Cloud (R-Texas), Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-Wis.), and Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.).
