The Georgia child, who went missing seven years ago, was found alive in Colorado on February 23, officials said Wednesday.
Abdul Aziz Khan went missing on November 27, 2017, when his mother allegedly accused him of Atlanta in the year 7 years old, according to a press release from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO). Her mother was an unjust parent, authorities said.
The now 14-year-old was assigned and recovered by DCSO lawmakers in Colorado on February 23rd in response to a call for trespassing. The corresponding officers found two individuals allegedly entered vacant sales assets. They were in the process of robbing it, officials said. According to the DCSO, responding lawmakers also found two children in a car parked in the residential driveway.
The man and woman left the house and claimed they were connected to the home’s real estate agent. Deputies then spent four hours identifiable the two suspects.
“The woman was eventually identified as 40-year-old Ravia Khalid. He had an active warrant for the temptation. Continuing research confirmed that the older child on the scene was a victim of the temptation and is now 14 years old,” DCSO said. Law enforcement arrested 42-year-old Khalid and Elliot Blake Bourgeois and booked them with multiple charges, including two-time inviting, trespassing, identity theft, forgery and providing false information to authorities, DSCO said. Both bonds were set at $1 million.
Authorities placed both children in protective custody and the identity of the young child was withheld by the sheriff’s office, according to the DCSO. The court will decide where the child is placed.
