Get ready for Yuma Silver Spur Rodeo Parade!

The theme for 2024 is “America the Beautiful,” so show your creativity when decorating your float.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – Yuma's annual Silver Spa Rodeo Parade is in its 79th year and is still going strong.

Peggy Collins, president of the Yuma Silver Spur Rodeo, said the theme of the 2024 parade is “America the Beautiful” and locals will have an opportunity to show off their creativity.

“You can be strictly patriotic, or you can add Western themes to 'America the Beautiful,' because they go hand in hand,” Collins said. I will explain. “You know, we are Western and people love the Western way of life, so if you want to incorporate both in the decoration of your floats and vehicles, you can do that.”

This year it will be held on February 10th from 9:30am.

If you would like to submit an entry to take part in the parade, you can find the form here. here.

Participation is free, and applications will be accepted until February 5th (Monday).

Floats will be judged and you might take home a trophy.

The categories are:

1. Community organization
2. Commercial organization
3. Youth Group
4. Religious organizations

The route begins by NAPA Auto Parts on 4th Avenue.

“Then we're going to go all the way down to Guis Parkwie and then go through Main Street to Third Street,” Collins said. “So we're going to encircle that whole area so people can sit along that route and we hope people will enjoy it.”

All proceeds from the rodeo will be donated to the Yuma County community.

“I strongly believe in giving back to the community, and all the funds raised from the Silver Spa Rodeo each year stay local,” Collins said. “We support Amberley's Place, The Mission, we support 4-H clubs, FFA clubs. We distribute money to different charities and make sure people know this is just for Yuma.” We will do it for Yuma because we love it.”

Bring your family and have fun while supporting your local community.
