Global Water Resources Submits Rate Case to Arizona Corporation Committee
Phoenix, March 10, 2025 – Global Water Resources, Inc. (NASDAQ: GWRS), a company focused on water resource management, has filed a general rate case application with the Arizona Corporation Commission concerning its water, wastewater, and recycled water services in Pinal County, Arizona.
These two utilities serve a total of 57,842 active service connections across the company’s largest designated service areas, which cover 207 square miles according to ACC guidelines.
“This application marks an important milestone in our strategy to enhance these utilities for our customers and support ongoing residential and commercial development in Pinal County,” stated Crissliger, the Chief Operating Officer of Global Water. “The revenue from the proposed new fees will allow us to maintain high-quality water and wastewater services for the communities we’ve served since 2004.”
The application seeks a fee increase that could generate approximately $6.5 million in net annual revenue from the total monthly bills of GW Santa Cruz and GW-Palo Verde customers, pending ACC approval. This rate case is based on financial data from the year ending December 31, 2024, and incorporates planned infrastructure investments for 2025.
The company has suggested that new rates be introduced in phases over two years, with the first phase beginning in May 2026 and the second in January 2027.
Additionally, Global Water has proposed new regulatory tools to facilitate future revenue growth. Once approved, this would allow for annual adjustments to costs and investments in a gentler manner.
