Borderland Tom Homan wanted the best “luck” of “luck” on Wednesday in his attempt to block US immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) from arresting illegal immigrants in New York City if Socialist Democrat Zoran Mamdani wins the mayor’s general election.
Late Tuesday, polls showed that Mamdani secured the Democratic mayoral nomination and former New York governor Andrew Cuomo recognized the Socialist Democrats. While discussing the Trump administration’s ongoing crackdown on illegal immigration over Fox Business’ “Kudrow,” Homan was asked to respond to Mamdani’s oath. “Good luck! Federal law beats him every minute of every day. We’re going to New York City. In fact, it’s a sanctuary city, so President Trump revealed it a week and a half ago.
“If we can’t arrest a bad guy in the county jail, an agent arresting one bad guy will release him on the streets as New York does every day,” Homan added. “We need to send an entire team to find this guy. Not only that, we’re going to send an additional team to find everyone to arrest. We’ll focus on the sanctuary cities as we know they’re bringing public safety threats and national security threats back to the streets.”
By supporting issues such as $30 minimum wage, free buses, free childcare and urban-owned grocery stores, Mamdani has spoken about “Trump Subsidy” New York City. Overview of his proposed policy on ice and President Donald Trump’s push to sanctuary cities, Mamdani Proposal Ends collaboration with ICE and invests more than $160 million in immigration legal funds.

According to projection From the Associated Press, Mamdani led Cuomo by about 7 points, securing 43.5% of the Democratic vote, with the former governor catching up with 36.4%. Before the race was officially called out on Tuesday, Cuomo admitted to his supporters, saying that Mamdani “touched young people, inspired them, moved them, and made them go out and vote.”
“So we know there’s a problem there. So there’s no problem in Florida where most sheriffs work for us,” Homan said. “So we’ll double and triple in New York. We’re not only going to send more agents to our neighborhood, but we’ll also be going to increase workplace enforcement by ten times.”
“If we can’t arrest him in prison, you’re going to force him in the neighborhood and we’ll find him in the neighborhood,” Homan said. “If we can’t find him in the neighborhood, we’ll find him at work, so we’re here.”
Sanctuary cities like Los Angeles and New York City were trying to push back Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration, but in April led Attorney General Pam Bondy and Homeland Security Secretary Christy Noem to direct cities and state governments that were not compliant with federal immigration laws.
When ice attacks rose in June, sanctuary cities like Los Angeles saw massive protests and riots, as rioters torched cars, ruined buildings and looters, leaving downtown Los Angeles at the ruins.
