Like any other country's cuisine, Mexican cuisine is not monolithic. It's not just combo plates and tacos. (Not that there's anything wrong with that style of food; it's delicious and has helped popularize Mexican food in the United States.) But there's more to Mexican food than that.
One in 10 U.S. restaurants serves Mexican food, and nearly nine out of 10 U.S. counties have at least one Mexican restaurant, according to an analysis of SafeGraph data by the Pew Research Center. The analysis also found that California and Texas are home to the majority of the Mexican-American population, and together they are home to two of the five Mexican restaurants in the country.
These discoveries provide further evidence of the influence that Mexican cuisine has had and continues to have on America. A question arises here. Where do you go for the best old-school Mexican restaurants, Roncheras that throw tacos half-way out the window, and innovative modern Mexican cuisine that pushes the culinary envelope?
To help you, Stacker, a news data analytics company, used data from Yelp to create a list of the top-rated Mexican restaurants in Lake Havasu City. Only restaurants with at least 5 reviews were considered.
A first class restaurant? Pinche Güero in the downtown area. La Carcacha, a former food truck that expanded into a brick-and-mortar restaurant in the Safeway Shopping Center, was named his second place. Locos Bar & Cocina in Desert Hills took his third place.
