Take a selfie: Tomorrow is #SafePlaceSelfie Day, according to the NOAA. With recent tornadoes nationwide (including some rare sightings in Mojave County), agencies are encouraging people to know where to go when dangerous weather is imminent.

Of course, Lake Havasu City will likely require residents to stay safe during a monsoon thunderstorm rather than a tornado or earthquake, but it’s always a good idea to be prepared. To participate in #SafePlaceSelfie Day, take a selfie in a safe place and post it on social media using the hashtag. In the meantime, create or review an evacuation plan and assemble a disaster kit with food, water, batteries, chargers, radios and cash to prepare for inclement weather. According to NOAA, you should get an insurance check, document your belongings, and create a communication plan that includes a handwritten contact list.
