“Goodrich,” which opened on Friday, is a new comedy starring Michael Keaton that seems like a stark contrast to his other hit, “Beetlejuice,” which is set for release in 2024.
This family comedy is probably geared towards late teens and adults, and follows Keaton's character Andy Goodrich, who is married to a younger woman and raising his 9-year-old twins in Los Angeles. According to According to the story, when his wife enters a rehab program, Keaton is left alone with his children and turns to his adult daughter Grace (Kunis) for support.
The movie seems to follow a fairly predictable emotional storyline. That said, it feels like it came out at just the right time. With a season of blockbuster movies and shows, each more action-packed, adrenaline-packed, violent, and explosive (with a few plot twists to boot) than the last, “Goodrich” feels like a relatable human story, not escapism. The trailer is laugh-out-loud funny, with clearly deep emotional exchanges and expanding the acting range of both Keaton and Kunis. “I'm 27 years older than you, and that's a rare thing between siblings… outside of L.A.,” Kunis' character tells her younger sibling in one clip. And she's not wrong.

Overall, the film seems like the perfect choice for Keaton after filming the sequel to Tim Burton's cult phenomenon Beetlejuice. Movie Insider Suggest He shot “Goodrich” months Perhaps he ended the satanic horror comedy as a change of pace from such strong characters. (Related article: “Bad Monkey” is the best show of 2024. “Goodrich” will be released on October 18th, a little over a month after “Beetlejuice” hits theaters. I think they'll both be great films.
