According to the outlet, members of the audience continued to appeal for criticism and questions throughout the meeting. Marshall later said it was “one of the most rude audience I’ve ever had.” (Related: “He Help Me”: Larry Cloudboo after Trump’s Cry).
The meeting concluded suddenly after crowds began discussing Trump’s administration’s cuts against a freeze on federal employment and funding, Veterans, KCUR It has been reported.
“Thank you for coming here, I want to gain a lot of courage,” local Chuck Nun said at the meeting, KSN reported. “But I think the way we’re going about it is very wrong, because there are unintended consequences.”
“I support veterans. As long as you cut down on what you’re doing now, what the government is doing now, what those jobs are doing, the majority of those people, and I know you care about veterans – is a veteran. And that’s a terrible shame. That’s a damn shame,” he continued.
“I’m not a Democrat, but I’m worried about veterans,” another man in the crowd added with applause.
“Well, I gave it to one [of] My elders and I would like to thank him for his comments,” Marshall responded. “No one has time to stand up. Today there are two more commitments. I’m grateful that everyone is making a drive and God bless America. Thank you.”
As the senators began to depart, the crowd could hear them screaming, “You’re not finished!” In front of the waves of booing.
“We’re going to vote for you!” cried one woman.
Marshall’s Chief of Staff Brent Robertson told KSN after the event was “stolen” by “Democrat operatives.”
“A Democrat operative who failed to map Oakley, Kansas earlier today has hampered the local town hall. Even so, Senator Marshall stayed with all the questions asked for forty-five minutes,” Robertson said in a statement to the outlet. “The real Kansan is overwhelmingly supportive of President Trump’s doge initiative, reduces the size of the federal government and fires career bureaucrats. Local Oakley citizens have no idea who these people are. Senator Marshall should be praised for staying as long as he is.”
