Republican Tennessee Rep. Tim Burchett disputed Democrat’s account of the altercation with conservative activists in a brief interview with the Daily Color News Foundation on Wednesday.

Burchett told DCNF the incident was “very unfortunate” and clearly told Crockett should not put his hands on activists.
“It was a bad situation. She shouldn’t have grabbed the guy’s phone anything,” Burchet told DCNF. “Everyone is in the faces of everyone here, but that’s part of the game. You have to live with it, you have to become an adult.”
“That’s why we have the court,” Burchet added as he climbed the Capitol stairs.
In a post on X, Crockett claimed that Burchet would ensure that between himself and the activist he would safely reach the committee room.
“In an age of division, he puts respect and safety first and I appreciate it,” Crockett writes to X.

Burchett appears to be challenging Crockett’s characterization of his role during the incident, informing DCNF that he “retreated” when the conflict took place.

The left-wing fire truck recently called for controversy in a speech at a LGBTQ advocacy group event in Los Angeles on Saturday by calling Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott the “Governor Hot Wheels.”
Crockett was seen walk Through the hallway with police escorts on Wednesday. She didn’t answer DCNF questions about whether she regretted laughing at Abbott on Wednesday or using a wheelchair.

Republican Texas Rep. Randy Weber introduced a resolution Wednesday morning officially denounced Crockett for her comments on Abbott. The resolution is not a privilege and it is unclear whether House GOP leadership will bring the resolution to a vote on the floor.
President Donald Trump called Crockett “low life” and “very low IQ person.” Interview Wednesday with daily caller editor-in-chief Vince Koglian.
A spokesman for the Capitol Police and Crockett did not immediately respond to DCNF’s request for comment.
