Gov. Janet Mills Acts Like There’s Not Trans Athlete Problem In Maine, Claims She’s ‘Appalled’ At Trump Admin

Maine, you deserve more. Good intentions.

Maine Gov. Janet Mills makes her feel like an outrage related to her state that allows trans athletes to participate in women’s sports. Speaking Monday, Mills also claims she was “applauded” about her lawsuit against Maine in the midst of a federal fundraising fight with President Donald Trump and his administration.

Mills, who appeared on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” spoke about fighting multiple divisions under Trump’s administrators. This began when Maine completely refused to comply with Trump’s “women-free men in women’s sports” executive orders. EO prohibits transgender (biological male) athletes from being able to compete in women’s sports. “Beware that the constitutional chief executive does not invent the law, but rather faithfully executes the law, rather than inventing it or reinterpreting the law in a tweet or Instagram post or press release or executive order. He is not permitted to do so.” I said Mills.

“So when he reinterpreted Title IX… I support Title IX. I spent the majority of my career protecting women and girls’ rights, including employment, employment, housing credits, etc. I was appalled.
