YUMA, AZ (KYMA, KECY-TV) – We arrived on Thursday and tonight’s weather conditions are looking pretty pleasant and enjoyable.
We want mostly clear skies, cool temperatures, and mild but light winds.
It will still be a little windy in the Yuma County area tomorrow with northerly winds reaching 5-10 mph and gusts reaching 20 mph.
Winds will pick up by Sunday and across the region early next week.
Temperatures are set to soar this weekend, with highs expected on Saturday.
Over the next few days, afternoon highs will stay consistently in the 90s, warmer for the spring season.
The rapidly changing weather system will pass near the four corners mid-next week and will be slightly cooler, although no precipitation is expected yet.
Flood warnings are in effect along the Gila River near Tacna in Yuma County until 5 p.m. Friday.
This is due to significant river flows continuing along both the Salt and Gila rivers.
Drought: There are no changes to the Southwestern Desert Drought Monitor this week as the unusually dry rain continues.
