Graduate Student No Longer Allowed To Teach After Leaving Threatening Voicemail On Legislator’s Phone

A graduate student at Louisiana State University (LSU) will be barred from teaching after leaving a threatening voicemail message on the phone of a Republican Louisiana senator, an LSU spokeswoman said.

Graduate student Marcus Venable is under investigation by Louisiana State Police after leaving a threatening message on the phone of Republican Louisiana Senator Michael Fesi. according to to WAFB. Fesi voted in favor of Louisiana House Bill 648, which would ban sex reassignment surgery and hormone therapy for gender-confused minors. “As a university, we foster an open and respectful dialogue. Graduate students in teaching professions have the right to express their opinions, as everyone does, but this profane, threatening phone call crossed the line. Sha Raymon said in an email to the Daily Caller News Foundation.

“If you bury your motherfuckers in the ground, I’ll make you a fucking martini made out of Bathart conservative tears,” Venable can be heard over the recording.

Republican Louisiana Rep. Gabe Ferment, who drafted the controversial bill, said of the graduate student’s phone calls, “I don’t know what’s wrong with this man. Whether it’s the threats and obscenities of this man, or his inability to analyze data and study objectively and recognize that ‘gender-positive care’ is child abuse.”

“Senator Fesi believes it is inappropriate to discuss details until the investigation is complete and the findings have been released,” a spokeswoman for Senator Fesi told DCNF.

Venable did not respond to the DCNF’s request for comment.
