PHOENIX — Graham County unemployment insurance claims fell 7-tenths of a percentage point in November, with Graham County recording the second-lowest unemployment rate in the state.
That’s according to data released Thursday by the Arizona Department of Commerce.
Graham County’s unemployment rate fell from 3.6% in October to 2.9% in November, tying it with Maricopa and Yavapai counties.
Meanwhile, Greenlee County maintained its position as the county with the lowest unemployment rate in the state for the 12th straight month in November. The unemployment rate she fell 0.4 percentage points from 3.1% in October to 2.7% in November.
Nearby Cochise County dropped 0.6 points to 3.9% in November.
Statewide, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose 0.2 percentage points in November to reach 4.1%. That’s two-tenths higher than Arizona’s unemployment rate in November 2021. The national unemployment rate he held steady at 3.4%.
Nine economic sectors reported job growth in November. Government (6,100 more); Education and Health Services (5,900 more). Professional and Business Services (2,400 more). Finance activities (1,600 additional jobs). Leisure and Hospitality (+1,500). manufacturing (1,000 more jobs); construction (800 more jobs); and natural resources and mining (100 jobs).
