Grand Canyon’s North Rim to fully reopen after pipeline repairs

PHOENIX — The Grand Canyon’s North Rim will be fully open for the 2023 season this weekend after a water disruption has been repaired, the National Park Service announced Tuesday.

Grand Canyon Lodge Accommodation and food services will return to normal from Sunday.

The dining room is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but reservations are required for dinner service.

North Rim’s services have been limited since the seasonal opening began on June 2. The lodge could not provide accommodation, and food and beverage services were limited to that day.

The North Rim campground opened on June 9 with potable water and toilets, but no laundry or shower facilities. Laundry and showers are open on Sundays.

This restriction was due to pipeline breaks leading to water-saving measures.

According to the National Park Service, the pipeline has since been repaired and the measure is no longer valid.

The last day of the 2023 season for most North Rim commercial services is October 15th.

The National Park Service will continue operations, including the Backcountry Information Service, through October 31.
