duke star Kyle Filipowski suffered a minor injury during a courtroom storm after Wake Forest's win over Duke, reigniting the conversation about the practice.
Byrne suggested that any home team that allowed fans to storm the court after a win should be forced to forfeit the game, and that would pretty much get the job done.
“It's normal when you have two kids jumping out, but when you have a rush like we had at Wake the other day, you lose the game. That gives people pause,” Byrne said.

Alabama is used to opposing fans swarming the field after Tide losses, leading to several incidents that Byrne recalled over the years.
“We had a student manager who thought he was going to lose an eye in a rainstorm the last few years. He ended up getting a concussion, but the doctors were able to save his eye. Doctors , a female doctor was pushed and bruised pretty badly. And something needs to be done about it,” Byrne said. Matt Stahl of AL.com on monday.
While it's probably unlikely that any kind of forfeiture policy will be implemented, stories surrounding courthouse assaults will continue to make headlines as March approaches college basketball season and assaults increase. .
